This was the perfect Valentine's gift to myself. At 97 pages, it was easy to read during the kids' nap time, but long enough to feel well developed.Nicole is baker, and she's working a pre-wedding weekend in St. George, UT for her friend Tiffany. Her colleague, Sean, is a chef she's worked with on numerous occasions. Just when he is working up the nerve to ask her to go into business with him, she reveals that she's selling her business and starting over in Los Angeles. She feels cursed when it comes to interacting with men, and just wants a fresh start. Sean convinces her to let him help her gain confidence where it comes to men. He has three sisters, how hard can it be? Before he knows it, Sean is the one wanting her attention. Would romance ruin the business deal he has in mind?
I loved Sean and Nicole. They worked well together despite their different styles. This story was full of humor from embarrassing clothing malfunctions to auto-corrected texts. I was laughing out loud and grinning often.
Always a Bridesmaid is the second book in The Bridesmaid Series, and I would recommend reading The Wedding Promise first, since Tiffany and Jax do crop up in this story.

Always a Bridesmaid The Bridesmaids Series Book 2 edition by Melinda Curtis Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This second book in the Bridesmaids Series is as sweet and funny as the first book. I chuckled several times while reading both books. Definitely feel good reads. I highly recommend this series. I promise you will "lubbock" the main characters and this series. Sweet, wholesome and fun!!! Enjoy!!!
I think this story is really unique because in real life you often meet a couple and can see how they compliment each other. That comes through really well in this story. Nicole and Sean are really different, but balance and compliment each other well.
What is it they say? Comedy is hard? Apparently that's not the case for Melinda Curtis. She deftly wields classic wit and comedic situations into stories that keep me glued to the page (or e-reader in this case). This is a writer who knows her genre and her characters. They jump off the page and right into the reader's heart. Melinda is getting better with every story and I can't wait to read the next installment of The Bridesmaids Series).
This was a very fun and funny romance. Nicole and Sean were great. I loved how they were together in the kitchen (her baking and him cooking). They definitely had great chemistry. I really enjoyed how they handled Tiff (the bride-to-be) and her handful of a future mother-in-law. It wasn't your typical sappy romance. It was deeper than that. Two people working past their own fears and hang ups to find their way to each other. And the texting auto corrects were hilarious.
I read the first book in the bridesmaid series as part of Sweet Christmas Kisses, a collection of fourteen Christmas romantic stories. This novella can stand on its own, but if you're like me, you won't go into the second book unless you've read book one first.
While the first book was set in the forests of Ecuador, the second one takes the readers back to the states as the subject pair take the lead as love bloomed while the entrees and desserts were prepared.
Simple story, short, cute and enjoyable.
This was a story filled with humor as the the main characters stumbled through their own misconceptions about each other and themselves toward finding love. It showed that having professional success doesn't mean you have everything. I enjoyed the continuation of Tiffany and Jax's story. As a military wife, thank you for showing the strength of our wounded warriors and their need to still be seen as whole men despite whatever they lost fighting for our freedom.
The second in the Bridesmaids Series does not disappoint. Melinda Curtis infused this fast-paced novella with her usual wit and humor, giving the reader laugh out-loud moments as well as sweet romance. Master baker Nicole and Chef Sean are polar opposites in the kitchen and in their out-looks on life and the fun in this novella is watching these two characters fall in love. Melinda Curtis delivers a wonderful story that will keep you turning the pages until the end. The next one cannot be released soon enough.
If you are looking for a romantic comedy series with real characters, plot twists and humor, I recommend this series. You won't be disappointed.
